Few years ago, Google announced that it will penalize domains that do not use encryption. The announcement is part of a move to increase security and awareness to security of thousand of transactions and identity exchange on the internet. While most of the large traffic websites have already moved their online services to protected TSL environments, most of small website and service providers have constraint due to certificate costs.

Well, good news! Let's Encrypt, a service provided by the Internet Security Research Group (ISRG), has decided to challenge the problem and provide free Security Certificates. Let's encrypt received cross-signatures from IdenTrust, which means that their certificates are now trusted by all major browsers.

In support of this movement, Host.al will start to advertise the use of Let's Encryp certificates for free for all our webhosting partners. For any hosting package, you are now entitled to a free SSL certificate from Let's encrypt. The solutions targets all our shared hosting clients. Dedicated and VPS server owners may still receive a certificate for free for a one time installation fee of 5€.
